THE JUNGLE BOOK A "HIT OR MISS" WITH MILLENNIALS?

Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book is by far the most compelling use of CGI since James Cameron's Avatar back in 2009. Since it's release over a month ago, it has continued to break records becoming the 4th highest grossing film so far this year. Which isn't much of a surprise since every Disney film as of late has been a hit domestically and internationally at the box office.  Which brings me to my question, was The Jungle Book a hit or miss with millennials? The Jungle Book was first animated by Disney in 1967, becoming a cult classic that would resonate with kids from all cultural backgrounds for generations. So when Disney decided to make a live-action version, people were apprehensive, and rightfully so. So to many people The Jungle Book was much more than just a story/movie, it was our childhood. But with an all-star cast like Scarlett Johanssan, Bill Murray, Idris Elba and Lupita N'yongo the movie was poised to do well. A movie that was intended to be another kid movie, turned out to be anything but that. The Jungle Book was a Gigantic success among teens and adults. In closing, The Jungle Book is an extremely well put together film, that is destined to be remembered as a new Disney classic 10 to 20 years from now.
